Distress_Beacon

This started as a little exercise in storyboarding and cinematic compositions.
I sketched out the storyboards, then decided to polish the sketches a bit. I happened to enjoy the painting process so much that I decided to just keep going and handpaint all of them to a presentable level, to turn them into something like fake screenshots from my non-existing movie.
This is the first half of the planned story. It’s quite static and slow-paced. And the second part was supposed to be very dynamic - all about fighting the creature. I might do the continuation, maybe in UE5 to arrive at something closer to a proper short film.
It had been a while since I painted so much without using any 3D or photobashing, so I really enjoyed this little, relaxing pet project.
